S: How and when did you start collecting?
YJ: It all started when my husband and I just started dating, we went to a place called Rage , a computer convention, as he wanted to buy something, it was my first time here, and I walked into a comic stall, I saw Harley Quinn Arkham and just fell inlove with her, the following year we went again, and I got my matching Joker, and then the addiction started.
S: What do you collect? Does your collection have a theme, such as Star Wars, Batman, superheroes, etc.?
YJ: My collection focuses mostly on collecting Harley and Joker stuff, I also love Ironman and Hot toys.
S: What are your favourite or the most prized pieces in your collection? And why?
YJ: My small Harley Arkham statue, as she was the first statue I owned. I also love the bigger Prime 1 Arkham Harley and Lee Bermejo Joker, my first Prime 1 Joker.
The detail in the statues, and this is silly, but putting them together with my husband, I follow the instructions and pass him each piece, and he fits them, I love that. XM has so many extra pieces in each statue.
S: What items are on your wishlist?
YJ: I would love to get other big Jokers, and one day get a life-size Harley Quinn, now that would be a dream come true.
S: What do you think of the collecting community in SA?
YJ: I am not very active in the online community, but I have met a few of the people with my husband at hosted gatherings, and everyone is supportive and friendly - they all want to help you, and always compliment my collection. The attention and support we've received from Symbiote is something we have never experienced before, we feel like we are one big family. And it is amazing. I love it.
